SECTION HIERARCHY

CENTRE:  Also known as “The Agency”; Origin and ultimate purpose unknown. Controls Oversight and therefore all of the Sections. Power appears to be absolute.
Data flows "downstream" from Centre.  Centre can access Oversight and the Sections, and Oversight can access the Sections, but not the other way around. Until S4, no individual had seen the head of Centre, other than the Chairman of Oversight.

OVERSIGHT:  A committee comprised of the heads of each of the Sections. Each Section reports directly to the committee and is subject to their authority. There are eight known Sections under Oversight each specializing in a different area. The Sections were founded by a woman known as “Adrian”.

SECTION ONE:  Section One is the Section responsible for anti-terrorist activity. The head of Section One is referred to as “Operations” and reports directly to “George” the Chairman of Oversight. Section One is considered a military organization and is believed to be located in Paris, France. Out of all of the Sections, Section One is the most influential, its resources appear to be unlimited and Operation’s power is substantial. Section One is comprised of operatives recruited from prison. Most recruits were sent to prison for specific crimes and then recruited for their various areas of expertise. There were nine known operatives recruited into Section although innocent of any crime: Nikita, Seymour Birkoff, Jason Crawford, Greg Hillinger, Rudy ("Innocent"), Detective O’Brien (“Voices”), MIT graduate Kruger (“Outside The Box”), leukemia victim Sarah (“Before I Sleep), and Comm Assistant Dori ("There Are No Missions"). Recruits are subjected to a two year training period before officially entering the Section and being put on active status. Should an operative not perform to Section’s expectations they are cancelled (killed).
